My hunger blasting smoothie, affordable fitness equipment, and a bumpdate!

It is 2018 and time to eat healthy and build a fitness routine!  I have teamed up with Walmart to share some tips and tricks for starting your own healthy lifestyle without the hefty price tag!

Whether you need, activewear, vitamins, organic foods, or fitness equipment, Walmart has a wide variety of products to aid your healthy lifestyle, and keep your fitness new year’s resolutions.  It is easy and fun to start and continue to be healthy but the trick is not to get overwhelmed.  Here are two things that will put you on the road to success.

  1. ADD VEGGIES, FRUITS, AND NUTRIENT RICH FOODS TO YOUR CURRENT DIET.  I always suggest adding 4 cups of vegetables and 2 cups of fruit to your diet to start building a healthier eating routine.  I love sneaking in the vegetables wherever I can! One way I do this is my hunger blasting smoothie.  I made the smoothie below using all organic products found at Walmart.  (Did you know they are the biggest organic grocer in the country?)  Add it into your day when those cravings start to creep in.  It is low calorie, full of micronutrients, and will blast away hunger while hydrating your body!  It is my secret weapon.

Blend the following in a blender:

    1-2 C. of spinach

    1/2 of a ripe banana

    1/2 C. frozen blueberries

Water (I like adding a lot of water to mine to make it bigger!)

That’s it!  It is a very mild taste and your body will grow to crave it.

Here are some other healthy food items that I bought at Walmart and are currently in my pantry.

  2. EASE INTO A FITNESS ROUTINE.  The next part of your fitness journey is to develop a fitness routine.  Start with 7-15 minutes of exercise and increase the intensity/time when you feel ready.  Start working out at home if getting to a gym isn’t an option.  Whenever I am working out at home (which is quite frequently) the only equipment I use is dumbbells and a yoga mat.  My workouts usually consist of 4 exercises focused on either arms, legs, or core work. 10 reps of each back to back.  I repeat the exercises for 4 rounds.

An example arm workout that I did yesterday is:

    • 10 dumbbell curls
    • 10 pushups
    • 10 tricep dips
    • 10 windmills

rest for 1 minute in-between and repeat 4x.

Since becoming pregnant I needed some new fitness gear…  I found just what I needed at Walmart.  I bought these adorable 5 lb purple weights since my 10 pound weights were becoming a little uncomfortable with the bump.  I also got this matching yoga mat and am now convinced that all my gear should be purple!  I am focusing on low intensity movements and stretching as I ease into the second trimester of pregnancy.  Trying to keep those twinsies safe!  Navy wanted to join in on the fun (don’t worry I didn’t let her lift the dumbbell by herself lol).  She always wants to workout with mommy.  She put her ballet outfit on and was ready to move!  She is such a fun child and is killing me in these pictures haha… coincidentally her whole outfit is from Walmart too.

Shop my mat, purple 5 pound weights, an adorable pink exercise ball ,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       and some maternity activewear below!
